We have all played that game called rock-paper-scissors. It's fun to see what everyone is going to do. My favorite has always been paper over rock. Not sure why, but maybe because I visualize a huge sheet of paper completely towering over and engulfing this hard object that always seems to be a pesky nuisance, like a pebble in a shoe.
Spiritually, I see this paper as the Word of God completely covering over those pesky stones in my life. The stones can be anything that is contrary to the Word and they cannot be ignored because they are painful. But when the Word of God covers them, the stones start to dissolve.
When I was ill back in the 90's and had several major health problems I was battling, the doctors gave me little hope of recovering and said there was nothing they could do. I think I saw over 50 doctors in order to get help. Epstein Barr Virus, Cytomegalovirus, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, Fibromyalgia, Grave's Disease, Goiter, Mitral Valve Prolapse, and the list went on and on. My symptoms were saying, "I am sick. I feel horrible. I can't move. My body is wasting away. I am dying." Pretty fair assumptions, based on all of the diagnoses! Those were my stones, or rocks. They were screaming at me daily. No matter what I did, I couldn't get away from those pesky nuisances.
When I got a hold of the Word of God and started reading what GOD had to say about my situation, I had to turn my attention to His Words, and not the words of the doctors, nor the words in my head. His Word, on PAPER, covered the ROCKS in my life.
So today I have this image in my mind about any problem that crops and wants to throw me off course. I imagine the pages of the Bible.. the paper on which those powerful, dunamis Words are written... covering over all of the obstacles that seek to hijack my destiny with God. Those pages are His feathers.
I know that His Word is more powerful than anything satan can throw my way. I know that He will make a way, when there seems to be no way. I know that with God, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE, and I KNOW without a shred of doubt.... that paper will ALWAYS cover rock...
