Faith Can Fail

"...It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that He exists and that He cares enough to respond to those who seek Him." - Heb. 11:6

We hear a lot about faith - that we have the faith as small a mustard seed and that we have all been given the measure of faith. But did you know that your FAITH can be reduced to inactivity, thereby not working for you?

In Luke 22, Jesus is speaking to Simon (Peter) and says, "But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail." The interesting part about this scripture is the word FAIL. It actually means, "to fall or die away; to dwindle; to become weak."

When we do not EXERCISE our faith, as we do with the muscles in our body, it (and they) become weak and wobbly. As a result, we are not pleasing God.

How do we build our faith? F. F. Bosworth said, “Most Christians feed their body three hot meals a day and their spirit one cold snack a week. And they wonder why they’re so weak in faith.” This is so true!! We need to constantly feed our faith and it begins with hearing the word. "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." -Romans 10:17

You can hear a sermon/teaching in church, on a CD, on tv, through a friend, on the radio (such as with my ministry), or you can read the Bible and hear the Word of God coming from your own mouth!! This is the starting point.

So start exercising (put into action) your God-given mustard seed of faith and watch it grow. Then see what God will do... ~Kimberly @ God's Healing Power Radio Ministry.
