When you stand up...for yourself, for others, for your health, for the unborn, for social or moral injustice, for the gospel...or for any kind of wrong or injustice that brings harm, there will be pushback. It's inevitable that the haters will hate. They will see you as a troublemaker, an agitator. The curse words against you will flow. They will gossip and lie about you. That's their right, no matter if their conclusion is based in facts or not. But most likely the haters will not have all the facts and will twist and manipulate in order to save face. My right, is to speak the truth.... and if someone doesn't like it, well, that's just not my concern. I won't live my life by the opinions of others who live in their own land of inner turmoil and make-believe.
Jesus was a table turner. He felt righteous indignation over injustice. We have His DNA and if the righteous indignation comes out in us then we are in pretty good company, I would say. Speak the truth, in love. And sometimes that love is tough love...
The majority of people have their heads buried in the sand about many injustices in this life. They don't want to make waves. They don't like confrontation. They don't want the haters to hate on them. They slide under the radar like dancers under a limbo bar.
God calls us to be bold!
"The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion." ~ Proberbs 28:1
I hear so many stories from friends and clients about the injustices they have suffered. It truly is heartbreaking. I think I should have been an attorney because I have the empathy and heart to identify with their pain and want to do something to right the wrongs on their behalf. If only I were 30 again...
But for now, I will CONTINUE to speak out with boldness against that which grieves God's heart, whatever that may be. We all have a platform of some kind. I hope you will join me in being BOLD... #bebold
