As the Osmonds' song says, "One bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch, girl..."
One demented police officer killing a man is NOT the whole bunch. Most police officers are GOOD PEOPLE, just trying to do their very difficult jobs and come home at night to their families.
Are there bad cops out there? Yes. Are there good cops out there? Yes. Are there bad criminals out there, black or white? Yes. Are there blacks killing blacks? Yes. Are there whites killing blacks? Yes. Are there blacks killing whites? Yes. Is there discrimination? Yes. Is there reverse discrimination? Yes. And on and on...
MY POINT is that we have a whole mixed kettle full of soup. There is every scenario known to man in this mix. This is just a by-product of the life we live in a fallen world. No surprise here.
Jesus hates what happened to Mr. Floyd. Jesus hates the deaths of the officers trying to protect our citizens. Jesus hates seeing looters stealing from businesses. JESUS HATES THE TURMOIL.
So...Let's turn to scripture for our HOPE and PEACE in the midst of this violence that has engulfed every thread of our lives in this tumultuous season.
PRAY for all the BAD APPLES who have hate and violence in their hearts that they may come to know the love, mercy, grace, and salvation of our mighty God...
