Lost In The Loop

There is a situation that happens when many Christians pray. It's called The Loop. And here's how it goes...

1. There is faith and a need for prayer.

2. Prayer takes place.

3. A sense of relief and hope enters.

4. Circumstances are still there.

5. Start to look at own circumstances and those of others.

6. Doubt and the "what ifs" start to creep in.

7. Stinking thinking gives way to full blown UNBELIEF and faith goes out the window.

8. Back to square one.

Does this sound familiar? This scenario happens everyday in the lives of Christians. The Loop keeps us spinning our wheels and staying stuck in our currents dilemmas, sometimes for years. Prayers go unanswered and usually the first one to blame is God. "Well God just doesn't choose to heal me." Or... "God must just want me to remain poor."

Now what happens is that the focus is now on our OWN IDEAS of how God operates instead of what the WORD SAYS. Our present circumstances dictate our perception of The Gospel. In essence, we write our own version of the Gospel, live by it daily and share it with others.

HOW TO BREAK OUT OF THE LOOP

Deeply entrenched cycles are not easy to break! It's almost like an addiction. The good news is that you CAN BREAK OUT of that LOOP. It's not easy, though, and will require some diligence and tenacity. It's a choice that must be made.

Are you up for the challenge??

When Peter stepped out of the boat to walk toward Jesus he was fully in faith. Then what happened? The waves got in his line sight and interrupted his focus. The circumstances crushed his hope and his belief and he immediately started to go under. Our eyes... our focus...our words.... MUST BE KEPT ON JESUS, no matter what we see or feel. I know it's hard. But in order to break free from the dark cycle, everything within us needs to line up with God's Word. Know that there is a better way... a more excellent way... a higher plain. The name of Jesus is above all. And so we need to tap into that mustard seed of faith that we were given, and STAND no matter what. Keep trusting. Keeping believing. Keep speaking. And pretty soon your legs will come out of that gripping quicksand, the cycle will be broken, and you will be on your way. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up. ... And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. ~ Galatians 6:9
