There's a scripture about casting your pearls...
In a sec...
One of the things that I have always been guilty of is trying to go out of my way to help people. Sometimes it works out, other times not so much. Some people appreciate the effort, but I have found that so many just want to take advantage of the kindness and then turn around and tear down. I have run across so many who are not who they say they are, and can be ravenous wolves. A evil heart behind the smiles.
The meanness I see on social media is almost jaw dropping. The meanness I have witnessed by people in real life can be equally as jaw dropping. Put on top of all of this being a Christian and carrying the Holy Spirit within, then it riles up the spirits in people you come into contact with. Pastor Kevin said that when he was a flight attendant for 29 years, walking the aisles and praying under his breath, there would be people hissing at him, falling out of their seats and some even slithered on the floor down the aisle. He has a thousand stories like this...
I rented out my apartment to a "friend" and bent over backwards to help because she had a lot of stuff going on. I loaned a couch to her. Made sure she was taken care of if anything went wrong. In the end, she trashed my place and left it a filthy mess, stole my nice couch, still owes me money, and then trashed me with lies. Be kind to people like this, and it can be a lesson in life, for sure.
Back to the pearls...
Matthew 7:6 ~ Do not give that which is holy (the sacred thing) to the dogs, and do not throw your pearls before hogs, lest they trample upon them with their feet and turn and tear you in pieces
They will turn and tear you to pieces alright.... whether infront of you or behind your back. Gossip. Lies. Slander. Oh boy, do I have stories! Need to write a book on this topic for sure.
The Lord has cautioned me about whom I am getting involved with, so that I can be protected. Note to self: I need to listen a little better. There are those out there who are against us, even though their smiles say otherwise.
So...
"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings."
“Be on your guard against false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves.
“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
"For wicked and deceitful mouths are opened against me, speaking against me with lying tongues. They encircle me with words of hate, and attack me without cause. In return for my love they accuse me, but I give myself to prayer. So they reward me evil for good, and hatred for my love."
"Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me."
