The Word says, "Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." It also says, "Abstain from every form or evil."
I saw a commercial the other day advertising a new vampire-type show and they said, "From the mind of Tim Burton". Minds that create this kind of evil are depraved and lost... the same minds that put all of the death and gore in the popular csi-type tv shows that people are gaga over.
We know the world doesn't mind this kind of garbage, but Christians? How is it that entertainment these days means sitting down to tv shows and watching evil and blood and gore concocted by depraved minds?
Satan surely is doing his job well when he blinds the minds of those who are called to abstain from these very things. Think about it... would Jesus sit down and be mesmerized and entertained by watching such things? I don't think so...
Even though these actors and writers and all the wealthy people in Hollywood seem to have it all, Psalm 73 tells us what will happen to these people. Don't allow "the world" to entice you to follow them down a rabbit hole. Surely, we can find much better 'entertainment' out there which is "true, honorable, right, and pure, lovely, and admirable."
