EXTRA! EXTRA!  Good News Today! Have you heard the good news???

Many of you who are suffering in your bodies with some sort of illness can rejoice because the total cure for what ails you at this moment, was given to us 2000 years ago. That's right! The cure was given, and it's available to all those who wish to receive this marvelous gift, which was shared with humanity by The Way, The Truth and The Life...

Jesus Christ died, not only for our sins, but he died for our souls and he died for our bodies. We are triune beings and He provided wholeness for all three parts. I remember a lady to whom I was trying to minister several years ago. I shared with her that Jesus died for her arthritis and that He wanted to manifest healing in her right then and there. In an angry voice, she said to me, " Jesus didn't die for us to be healed...he only died for our sins!"  And yet this woman was doing everything she could medically to relieve her pain and suffering. She wanted to be well! But yet she didn't believe that the same Jesus who died so that we could be with Him one day was the same Jesus who would love nothing more than to make us whole here on this earth. That day, the Lord had sent me to her to speak healing, but she refused the free gift that Jesus wanted to give to her...

There was a whipping post that our Lord was placed upon, before he went to the cross. On that post, his back was shred to pieces by the Roman scourging whip called  a flagrum. This instrument of horrendous torture had  either glass, nails or jagged sheep bone embedded in various size lead tips. It had anywhere from 3 to 12 leather straps with these sharp instruments at the ends. The Romans were experts at torture.  From a 3rd Century Historian:  "...their bodies were frightfully lacerated. Christian martyrs in Smyrna were so torn by the scourges that their veins were laid bare, and the inner muscles, sinews, even entrails, were exposed". (Westminster Dictionary of the Bible page 538)

Now can you understand why Jesus couldn't carry his own cross?  Matthew tells us that Simon of Cyrene was forced to pick it up and carry it to the place of crucifixion. Jesus did take up his cross, but he could not carry it for long - he was in  pain beyond our comprehension and so the burden to carry that cross was laid on another.  This should confirm to us that we are not to carry our burdens alone...

The flagrum, under the hands of bloodthirsty Roman guards, laid cavernous strips or "stripes"  upon the back of the bravest man who ever walked this earth and this is where I want to make my point today....

Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.

The Word "healed" in this passage needs some clarity from the original language to properly illuminate the depth of His love for us.   This word "Rapha" means to be made healthful and healed of personal distress. In many places throughout the Word this word "Rapha" has been used to describe spiritual healing, healing of the soul, and healing of the body. It's a TOTAL healing.  Jesus IS Jehova Rapha. HE IS total healing and wholeness...

When Jesus was nailed upon that old rugged cross, his bloody back, which was violently ripped wide open for your healing and my healing, seamlessy became a part of the total package of that cross and the miracle of salvation was about to begin...

Everything that Jesus died for has already been given to us. Healing is ours. Prosperity is ours. Wholeness in every way possible is ours. We don't have to beg and plead with the Lord to heal us of our ailments. He willingly and lovingly gave us what we needed many centuries ago.

Our part is to accept His love and grace, act in obdeience to His commands,  and receive our healing  by faith with a heart of thanksgiving and praise to Jehovah Rapha....OUR HEALER...
